Okay, this one I have a really strong opinion on. I’m a strong supporter of the LGBTQIAP+ community, and I hate to see people of that group discriminated against. So many people say homophobic slurs daily, whether on purpose or without even realizing it. One argument that’s prominent about homophobia is whether or not it’s a real phobia.
Personally, I don’t think it’s a phobia. If you had a phobia of gay people, you wouldn’t want to get close enough to them to protest at a pride parade. I agree with a quote from an unknown author, which is “they condemn what they do not understand,” because homophobes just discriminate against the LGBT+ community because they don’t quite understand. For instance, they don’t seem to understand your sexuality is not a choice. They usually seem to think that your different sexuality or your different gender is a choice, and they usually say that there are only two genders.
